User Guide – Portable IVMS/Remote Worker V2.0


Device Provisioning

  1. The Portable IVMS comes with a pre-installed SIM card and is provisioned on our GPS tracking platform.
  2. Each device is checked for connectivity prior to being delivered to a client site.
  3. The device is IP67 rated only while enclosed in the portable case.
  4. The device is delivered with pre-wired external antennas for both GPS and Cellular.
  5. The device is delivered with an Iridium satellite modem that is connected to the Portable IVMS using the provided extension cable.
  6. The device is delivered with a pre-wired momentary Duress Switch that is located on the side of the portable case.
WARNING: Do not disassemble the device, If the device is damaged, the power supply cables are not isolated or the isolation is damaged, DO NOT touch the device before unplugging the power supply.

Placement Tips

  1. Ideally this device should be placed within easy reach of the driver in case the Duress Switch needs to be triggered, and where the device case has a relatively clear view of the sky. such as the centre console.
  2. The device should be placed with the Duress Switch facing outward for easy access.
  3. Do not mount under metal objects.
  4. The device should be mounted as far away from the radio and speakers as possible.
NOTE: If the device is not securely placed within the vehicle then it may trigger false accident/rollover alerts and harsh driving events.
  1. Connecting to OBD Port:
    1. OBD port locations can vary between vehicle types, but usually they can be found next to the driver's side door near the fuse panel, or within the centre console.
    2. Ensure the OBD connector is inserted into the OBD port firmly.
    3. Ensure any excess cabling is routed away from footwells and vehicle controls.
  2. Connecting to Power Outlet:
    1. Most vehicles are supplied with at least one 12V/24V Power Outlet within the cabin that can be used to power other electrical devices.
    2. Ensure the Adapter is inserted into the Power Outlet port firmly.
    3. Ensure any excess cabling is routed away from footwells and vehicle controls.
  3. Connecting Iridium Modem:
    1. The device is delivered with an Iridium satellite modem that is connected to the Portable IVMS using the provided extension cable.
    2. Ensure when connecting the Iridium modem to the extension cable that the connectors are inserted and ends screwed together firmly.      
Test this device thoroughly as it is crucial that they are functioning properly.
IMPORTANT: Please ensure that the Iridium satellite modem is mounted in a location that provides a clear unobstructed 360 degrees view of the sky in all directions. Typically, a suitable mounting location is in the middle of the vehicle dashboard or on top of an asset.

Device Functions

Duress Switch

  1. When activated, the Duress Switch will send an urgent alarm to the platform which will then send notifications to any noted parties (configurable in the platform).
  2. The urgent alarm will be sent over the satellite network when cellular is not available.
NOTE: Please note the duress switch must be held in the on position for 3 seconds to activate.

Device Testing

On completion of the installation, please contact us on 1300 88 36 79 to allow us to check that the device is correctly functioning.

Please have the device IMEI number or Serial number (printed on the device) and Customer Name ready.
